Each diaphragm (14A, 14B) has firstly, a peripheral portion (15A, 15B) defining a Bellevile ring which engages the cover plate (11) and bears on the pressure plate (13), and secondly a central portion (17A, 17B) which is divided into radial fingers (18A, 18B) by slots. The peripheral portions (15A, 15B) of the two diaphragms (14A, 14B) are essentially spaced axially apart, and have different geometrical characteristics such that the characteristic curve of the assembly has no hump. |
