PURPOSE: To enable a viewing field to be secured properly during steering control by switching the wiping-action mode of a wiper to that in which the amount of wiping is great in accordance with an increase in detected amount of steering angle caused by the driver. CONSTITUTION: When a changeover switch SW4 is closed to the side of an input terminal 12 in order to perform intermittent control, a control portion CPU enters an intermittently operating mode. Then steering-angle pulses inputted from steering angle sensors 4, 5 are sampled and a controlled variableΔθof steering per unit time is calculated. Then the controlled variableΔθof steering is compared with a first threshold N1, and ifΔθ<=N1 a wiper is put into wiping action in the intermittently operating mode. IfΔθ>N1, the controlled variableΔθof steering is compared with a second threshold N2, and ifΔθ<=N2 a transistor Tr1 is driven for the wiping action in a low-speed operating mode; ifΔθ>N2, a transistor Tr2 is driven for the wiping action in a high-speed mode.
