<p>PURPOSE: To improve the resolution of an LED print head in a relatively simple constitution by reciprocating a lens array by a driving mechanism between a first position shifted to one side and a second position shifted to the other side by minute angles from the first position. CONSTITUTION: An LED print head 1 is provided with an LED array and a lens array 3 separated from the LED array and consisting of an array of rod lenses capable of turning minute angles. The lens array 3 is arranged together with a circuit board 2 in a required relationship and held in a casing 4. The lens array 3 is turned/shifted about a supporting shaft 11 in a sub scanning direction by the expansion/shrinkage of a piezoactuator of a first, shifting mechanism 5 and, turned/shifted about a supporting shaft 12 in a main scanning direction by the operation of a second shifting mechanism 6. Since the lens array 3 is reciprocated between the one position and the other angularly turned/shifted position, printing with superior resolution is achieved.</p> |
