PURPOSE: To provide a method for monitoring the interior space of an automobile and a device for executing the method. CONSTITUTION: A sound wave in the internal space of an automobile is converted by at least one sound receiver 1 into an electrical measurement signal, which is in turn amplified by an amplifier 2 and stored in a calculator unit. An alarm device 8 is actuated according to the checking of identity and/or similarly made by the calculator unit 3 between one or plural master signals stored in the calculator unit 3 and the measurement signal.
