PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound having phosphodiesterase-inhibitory action, thus useful as an antiasthmatic agent, vasodilative agent, medicine for bronchitis, antiallergic agent, anti-inflammatory agent, antirheumatic agent, hypotensive agent, medicine for stenocardia, medicine for arrhythmia, improving medicine for cerebrocirculatory metabolism, blood coagulation-inhibitory agent, or antidepressant. CONSTITUTION: This new physiologically active substance NA23063A has the following physicochemical charac teristics: appearance: yellow powder; molecular weight: 538; molecular formula: C30 H18 O10 ; solubility: soluble to lower alcohols, acetone and ethyl acetate, insoluble to hexane, petroleum ether, and water; Rf value by silica gel, TCL: 0.38 for hexane-acetone (1:1) developing solvent; color reaction: positive to iodine, etc. This substance is obtained by culturing microbes belonging to Streptomyces such as Streptomyces sp. NA23063 (FERM P-14685). |
