A rigid single- or multilayer non-oriented or mono- or biaxially oriented film in which at least one layer comprises a cycloolefin copolymer, wherein the cycloolefin copolymer has an intrinsic E modulus (Ei) which has the following dependence on the glass transition temperature Tg: Ei=(0.0025[GPa/ DEG C.]xTg[ DEG C.])+B[GPa] where B=2.93-3.19 and Tg is the glass transition temperature.
