A pump apparatus for a milking machine is provided with a distribution device (18) for the supply of lubricant to the bearings of the pump (10). The distribution device comprises an inlet means (54) for the supply of lubricant from a container (15), a distributor (57) and at least two outlet means for the delivery of lubricant to the different bearings of the pump. The distributor (57) is provided to guide the lubricant, independently of the incoming amount thereof such that the lubricant is equally distributed to each outlet means and hence to each bearing.
