<p>A TCF mutant having a novel amino acid sequence which is obtained by mutagenizing one or more amino acids contained in a domain ranging from the N-terminal to the first kringle of the amino acid sequence of natural TCF and has a depressed affinity for heparin and/or an elevated biological activity. The TCF mutant, which is prepared by gene manipulations with the use of TCF, has the activity of proliferating liver parenchymatous cells and/or promoting the proliferation of the same and is useful as a remedy for various liver diseases and an antitumor agent.</p> |
