PURPOSE:To obtain detergent composition useful as shampoo, face cleaning agent, etc., having low stimulation, excellent foaming power, stability with time and excellent appearance, comprising an amino acid type amphoteric surfactant, a hydroxycarboxylic acid and/or its salt. CONSTITUTION:A detergent composition comprises (A) an amino acid type amphoteric surfactant of formula I [R is 6-25C alkyl or alkenyl; X is group of formula II (M is H, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium cation, etc.), H or 1-3C alkyl; m and n are 1 or 2] and (B) hydroxycarboxylic acid and/or its salt (preferably lactic acid, malic acid, citric acid and tartaric acid) in the ratio of 2-20 pts.wt. component B based on 100 pts.wt. component A and optionally another amphoteric surfactant (e.g. carboxybetaine type). Another detergent composition comprises the above-mentioned detergent composition and an anionic surfactant in the ratio of the former/the latter of 10/1-1/10. The both detergent compositions in a state of liquid or paste are readily usable and preferable. |
