A power converting apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a main battery; a power convertor which performs a high power conversion mode for generating high power and a low power conversion mode for generating low power by using input power from the main battery; an auxiliary battery which receives the low power to charge; and an inverter which changes the high power into driving power for driving a motor. The size of the power converting apparatus can be reduced.
