Metal car jack comprising a bearing member which is substantially vertical during use, a lever and a threaded spindle, which lever, on one side, is rotatably connected to the vertical bearing member, and which lever, during use, on the other side from the one side mentioned above, is in contact with a car which is to be jacked up, and which vertical bearing member and lever are also coupled to one another by means of the threaded spindle, which is suitable for changing the position of the upright bearing member and the lever by rotating, the upright bearing member being designed as a hollow, extruded aluminium section.
