The system comprises first (1) and second (4) sensors connected to a processor unit (6) delivering signals representing the temperature of the windscreen glass (3) and the temperature of the air inside the vehicle cabin (H). A heater (7) is provided to heat the glass surface, with a control device (8) regulating this heating. The processor unit monitors the temperature of the glass and the temperature of the air within the cabin, adjusting the heater which acts on the glass or ensure that the glass temperature is always above that of the air, thus preventing misting up.
