The bearing (10,11) is held by a nut against a flange on the spindle (1) and accommodates a rotary hub (2). The labyrinth seal (37) is formed by an external groove (38) on a cone extension (48) of the hub, and a cone cover (41) over and clear of it. The cover end fits in a groove (40) open in the axial direction in the hub.Alternatively an axial labyrinth seal (36) can be used, having a groove (32) open in the axial direction in an outer nut (31). An axial protrusion (32) on an inner nut (13) is a clearance fit in the groove. The nuts can support part of the labyrinth seal, and the bearing can be of the ball or roller-type. |
