Tension restraint system for electrical lead in plug connector housing

The tension restraint system uses a solid mass (7) attached to the electrical lead insulation (3) and the lead wire (4) on the inside of the 2-part connector housing (G), which abuts one end wall of the housing, to block retraction of the electrical lead. The end of the lead within the connector housing is fitted with a contact pin (6), with the connection point between the lead and the contact pin pref. enclosed by the solid mass. The solid mass is pref. subjected to short-term heating after insertion in the connector housing, e.g. via ultrasonic waves simultaneously used to weld the two parts (1,2) of the housing together.
