METHOD FOR DESALINATION OF SALT LAKES

FIELD: environmental control; applicable in desalination and restoration of natural and artificial salt lakes and water reservoirs. SUBSTANCE: method for desalination of salt lakes includes continuous spraying of water at air subzero temperature over the lake perimeter by sprinkler installations, formation of mass of porous ice, repeated spraying of nonfrozen brine until its freezing temperature is higher than that of air temperature by 5 C, removal of remaining brine to beyond the limits of lake, removal of the first portions of thaw runoff with high mineralization at the beginning of natural thawing and admission of the remaining mass of thaw water to the lake. EFFECT: higher efficiency of desalination process.
