FIELD: shipboard automatic control systems. SUBSTANCE: system has one central computer and group of self- container computers acting on group of drives of steering surfaces and two groups of switching members. Number of self-contained computers is equal to that of drives of steering surfaces and number of switching members in each group. Information on state of ship is received from respective sensors which are common for central computers and self-contained computers. When system is in good order, law of control of each steering surface is formed at respective self-contained computer and is corrected by additional terms formed at central computer. In case of derangement of central computer, it is disconnected by switching device of second group and control of each steering surface is effected from respective self-contained computer. In case of derangement of one (or more) self-contained computer, it is disconnected by respective switching device of first group, after which control of drive is effected from central computer. In case of simultaneous derangement of central computer and one (or more) self-contained computer, respective steering surface is zero and control of ship is effected by remaining steering surfaces from serviceable self-contained computers.
