The trailer has an axle or tandem arrangement with two longitudinal girders in V formation, a coupling device and a gas cylinder holder. There is a lower flap (15,16) able to turn about a horizontal axis (17), which covers at least the lower part of the aperture of the cylinder holder. In the open position, it extends the bottom of the cylinder holder towards the front. At least one power transmission string is led from a coupling head (5) and/or the brake lever (6) at the front end of the girders (2) to a girder leading along to the wheel brakes. There may be a twin-arm lever to operate the wheel brakes by means of traction rods.
