The revolving head (1) incorporates an interchangeable hammer (9) with a cutting edge (3). The hammer has a shaft section (10) with annular groove (7), or with at least one flat groove which runs at right angles to the centreline of the shaft. A locking plate (4) has one or two prongs which engage with the groove in the shaft section (10). The locking plate retains the hammer in the head. The locking plate in turn is secured in position with a screw (5).
