This invention aims at simplifying a structure for mounting a bracket (5) for a pad on a core metal (3) of a steering wheel, restricting a movement of an integral switch pad (2) which covers the part of the four-spoke type steering wheel (1) which extends from the central portion thereof to an intermediate portions of the spokes, and thereby reducing the number of contacts and manufacturing cost. On the spokes (3c) of the core metal of the steering wheel, a bridge (locking member) (4) is formed which comprises a plurality of legs (4a) set up substantially in parallel with a steering shaft, and a crossbar (holding portion) (4b) formed at the free end portions of the legs (4a) so at to be bent toward the inner side of the steering wheel. A bracket (5) is provided between the spokes (3c) of the core metal and the crossbar (4b) of the bridge (4), and has a working face superposed on the crossbar (4b) of the bridge (4). A means for urging the bracket (5) toward the crossbar (4b), and a means (4c, 8a) for positioning the bracket (5) with respect to the axis of the steering shaft are provided between the working face (8b) of the bracket (5) and the spokes (3c) of the core metal. Compression coiled springs urging the pad (2) toward a driver are provided at the left and right end portions (c, d) of a lower side of the pad (2), and at two upper side portions (a, b) of the pad, the distance between the two upper side portions (a, b) being larger than that between the lower side portions (c, d) horn switch contacts (7a-7c) being provided in one lower side central portion of the pad and two upper side lateral end portions thereof. <IMAGE> |
