Inline regenerator device of a soliton signal via synchronous solitory modulation using a non-linear optical mirror

The device includes a clock signal recovery device which allows extraction of a clock signal from a signal input via a fibre optic link. The clock signal is applied (C2) to the control input of a non-linear optical loop modulator (NOLM) to which solitons pass via a line loss compensation amplifier (GS). In the loop, the soliton signal is modulated by the clock signal envelope with sufficient amplitude modulation to reduce or eliminate jitter at the output of a band-pass filter (BPC) centred at the soliton wavelength.
