PURPOSE: To obtain a controller applicable to a protector of a power element by employing a computer being interrupted by a comparison circuit to conduct an output element in a surge resistant control mode which is ended eventually upon interruption from the comparison circuit. CONSTITUTION: When a surge voltage having long attenuation time is generated in a feeder line 9, voltage at the + terminal of a comparator 21 in an overvoltage detection circuit 2 rises. When the voltage at the + terminal exceeds a comparison level of 24V, an overvoltage detection circuit 2 delivers a high level output signal 22. When a CPU 3 is interrupted, the outputs P0-Pn thereof are controlled to turn power transistors Tr0-Trn ON. In this regard, the time to be elapsed after the voltage of the feeder line 9 exceeds the predetermined level before the power transistors Tr0-Trn are turned ON is short enough to turn the power transistors Tr0-Trn ON before they are broken down. |
