PURPOSE: To provide a light binder magnetic particle with good durability and stable magnetic characteristics, by using magnetic powder dispersed in a binder agent including resin powder with a given density or below. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic particle (M) is made of magnetic powder (M) dispersed in a binding agent (B) including light resin powder (P) with density of 1.2g/cm<3> or below. An aqueous monomer phase composed of resin powder, magnetic powder, and other additive in a magnetic radical polymerizing vinyl monomer, as a raw binder resin material, is dispersed in dripps in a dispersion medium and heated to change the vinyl monomer into polymerized particle (M). Then, a light magnetic particle with good durability and stable magnetic characteristics is obtained. When the particle is used as a magnetic carrier or magnetic toner in an imaging apparatus in an electron photographic method, high quality imaging is realized. |
