PURPOSE: To decrease the developing time and saves time to treat a waste liquid while maintaining various performances as a developer for formation of color images by incorporating a basic compd., surfactant, phenol compd. and water in specified proportions. CONSTITUTION: This developer is used for a material to form a color image having a color photosensitive layer containing at least a photosensitive compsn. and a coloring agent on a transparent supporting body. The developer contains 0.1-10wt.% basic compd., 0.1-20wt.% surfactant, 0.01-20wt.% phenol compd. and 70-99.7wt.% water. In this case, the basic compd. may be an org. basic compd. or inorg. basic compd. The surfactant is anionic, nonionic, cationic or amphoteric surfactant, and especially an anionic surfactant is preferable. As for the phenols, especially phenols,α-phenols,β-naphthols are preferable. |
