The burner for the combustion of granular material uses an inclined drum (1) which rotates about an axis (2). The front (3) of the drum is an opening for combustion gasses. The drum cylinder is double walled (4,5) with a space (6), as is the end wall (7,8,9). The inner walls are perforated (10,11). The double walled section defines a primary combustion chamber 913) whilst the front, single walled, portion defines a secondary combustion chamber (14). Fuel is fed through a feed pipe (18) which is surrounded by a concentric, tube shaped driving axle (19) which also constitutes an air admission pipe. A ring shaped space (20) is formed between the central fuel feed pipe and the air admission pipe. Air admission ducts (17,17a) communicate with the ring shaped space toward the jacket to provide an outlet for the combustion gasses. |
