<p>PURPOSE: To improve the picture quality of reproducing pictures by considering relation with blocks adjacent to expanded picture data and correcting block distortion. CONSTITUTION: A compression/expansion processing means 3 expands compressed picture data for the respective blocks and stores data for one frame in a picture memory 2. The stored data required for a correction processing are stored in the memory 17 for correction of a picture quality correction means 7 by the control of a main control means 8 and the data of the boundary picture elements B and C of the adjacent blocks b1 and b2 are corrected by the data of the picture elements A and D present on an inner side from the B and C by an arithmetic part 27 and written back in the memory 2. By the correction processing, the picture data stored in the memory 2 are corrected so as to let boundary picture element data between the blocks be smooth data and the pictures for which the block distortion is corrected are reproduced.</p> |
