<p>PURPOSE: To easily convert the white defect pixel of a liquid crystal display element of a north white mode in which the central value of a source voltage is set equal to a common voltage into a black defect. CONSTITUTION: A metallic layer 29 for welding is formed on a storage capacitor electrode part 4a-1 facing a gate bus Gi+1 of a pixel electrode 4a. The white defect pixel is irradiated with a laser 34 to melt the metallic layer 29 for welding, by which the gate insulating layer between the metallic layer 29 for welding and the gate bus Gi+1 is destroyed to a stripe form. Both are thus connected by molten metal 35. As a result, the gate voltage VGi+1 (having DC-like potential difference with the common voltage Vc ) is applied on the pixel electrode 4a and the white defect pixel is converted into the black defect.</p> |
