<p>PURPOSE: To facilitate the maintenance of the up and down virtual paths(VP) by storing the information on the highways where one of both paths passes in the passing order and setting the other VP based on the information that is read out in the order that is adverse to the storing order. CONSTITUTION: A management object(MO) 2 connected to a virtual path(VP) sets an up VP transmission path based on the VP connection setting instruction of a connection MO 1 and informs of a VP connection numbers N. The MO 1 successively collects and stores the numbers N of the up VP transmission path. When the setting of the up VP transmission path is finished, the numbers N are read out in the adverse order and the MO 2 sets a down VP transmission path based on these read numbers. Then the MO 2 informs the MO 1 of a new number N and automatically sets a down transmission path to the same highway to complete its operation. Thus the VP connection is attained without increasing the load to a network system and the maintenance is facilitated for the highway-based switching operations, etc.</p> |
