PURPOSE: To provide a display board device and its control method capable of clearly explaining which of merchandises on the display board at the time of explaining the mechandise of emphatically displaying a specific line in a fixed display mode and executing a smooth merchandise explanation. CONSTITUTION: A main control section 3 receives display information which is stored in a storage section 2. Display parameters are updated by the update information inputted from a remote controller 4. In accordance with the display parameters, display data equivalent to one page are read from the display information stored in the section 2. The data are outputted and displayed to a display board 5. During a fixed display mode, the first line is emphasis displayed by a reverse display or a blink display when an emphasis line shift key of the controller 4 is pushed. Every time the key is pushed, the emphasis displayed line is shifted. When an emphasis mode switchover key is pushed, the emphasis display mode (the reverse display or the blink display) is switched. When a reset key is depressed, the emphasis display is released.
