A machine for packaging prod. lots with film packaging (14) has a device (22) for forming the film into a longitudinally jointed tube and a prod. transporter (24) displaceable between a retracted position for loading prods. (12) upstream of the tube forming and a position engaging prod. in the formed tube. A cutting and sealing unit (26) separates the tube from the feed bobbin and seals it behind the loaded prods. and simultaneously forms the closed end of tube for insertion of the next prod. lot. The prod. lot transporter (24) has a piston (51) for moving the prods. in the transporter (24) and to feed the film from the forming device (22).
