PURPOSE: To provide excellent wear resistance and to maintain high image density by forming a coating layer containing a conductive inorg. powder and having a finely roughened surface. CONSTITUTION: This developing sleeve 9 consists of a sleeve-like metal member 12, a chemically converted film layer 11 formed on the metal member 12, and a coating film layer 10 formed by electrodeposition coating. The coating layer 10 contains a conductive inorg. powder, and if necessary, it may contain conductive carbon, nonconductive powder and solid lubricant. By incorporating these, the surface of the coating layer 10 is finely roughened. As for the conductive inorg. powder, a conductive ceramic powder such as metal boride, metal carbide, metal nitride, or metal oxide, or a ceramic powder containing a conductive inorg. powder can be used. Or, such a ceramic powder can be used that is prepared by adding conductive superfine particles to the surface of a ceramic powder by doping or plasma treatment. |
