The invention relates to a method of producing nanowires, comprising the application of laser radiation and the simultaneous injection of a supersonic gas jet on the precursor material in atmospheric conditions and at ambient temperature. The inventive method is considerably advantageous over standard methods in that it can be performed on trade samples without any prior preparation, since it is not necessary for a very precise check of the process and ambient conditions to be carried out, which significantly reduces the length of the process and the cost thereof. In this way, the inventive method can be used to synthesise larger quantities of nanowires in significantly-reduced processing times.
