PURPOSE: To provide an A/D converter capable of resetting aΔΣmodulation circuit with a simple constitution by providing a means for judging whether or not digital data are present within a prescribed range and generating reset signals corresponding to a judged result. CONSTITUTION: TheΔΣmodulation circuit 3 quantizes inputted analog signals Ain corresponding to a frequency higher than the frequency of the signals Ain and generates corresponding bit string data Db. A comb filter 4 as a digital filter reduces the level of the high frequency component of the data Db, converts them to the digital data Dd of plural bits and outputs them. A reset signal generation circuit 6 judges whether or not the data Dd are present within the prescribed range, generates the reset signals RST corresponding to the judged result and outputs them to the circuit 3. By the constitution, the circuit 3 is initialized in response to the signals RST and the circuit 3 is reset by the simple constitution.
