METHOD OF CARRYING OUT FINANCIAL CLEARING OPERATIONS AND AN ASSOCIATED SYSTEM

In order to carry out financial clearing operations at an accounting and service centre (1), a signal which identifies the subscriber and determines the availability and amount of funds in the subscriber's bank account is produced. Once the subscriber has completed the financial operation, a signal corresponding to the sum involved in the operation is produced and transmitted over a communications channel to the accounting centre (2) where the information is used to amend the balance of the account, data on the new balance being forwarded over a separate communications channel to the data dissemination centre (3) from whence they are disseminated over a radio communications link to all the accounting and service centres, where the information concerning the new balance replaces the old information. The technical result of the invention is 'real-time' operation of the system and a significant improvement in the degree of protection from unauthorised use. This technical result is obtained by using an alternative to the known method of subscriber identification (based on an electronic card) involving the use of subscribers' biophysical characteristics, for example, using the 'Hand Key' unit (7) which produces telemetry signals relating to the parameters of a user's wrist, and by using a standard radio or television signal as the wireless communications link, e.g. using the 'TV-inform' centres (16, 17, 18), the information signal being carried in the active part of the free lines of the suppressing pulse of the TV image signal fields.
