Oil-contg. material, partic. oil filters, are treated by a process in which the housing is sepd. and housing parts are cleaned without crushing or deformation, i.e. maintaining a geometry similar to that of standard filters.Parts are pref. cleaned by blowing out with compressed air with a nozzle system using similar or different types of nozzles. Pref. heated compressed air, hot steam, saturated steam, or high pressure water jet may be used for cleaning, with linear or rotary relative movement between housing part and nozzle system.
