Food pack sterilisation process and assembly charges sterilisation into intermediate chambers

A process and assembly introduce a dosed quantity of a sterilising agent in to a food pack (21) from a reservoir (C) via a jet (A) as part of the packaging p rocess. The novelty is that a pre-determined quantity of the sterilisation agent is charged into intermediate chambers (35, 36), to a given upper limit. A quantity of the sterilisation agent required for a food pack (21), is fed to a jet (A), until the quantity of sterilisation agent in the intermediate chambers (35, 36) r eaches a given lower limit. At this point the intermediate chambers (35, 36) are again charged with a pre-determined quantity of the sterilising agent for the next cycle.
