Paint is fed to the front of a rotary spray head comprising a main body 2 made of electrically insulating material. Discharge electrodes 8 of band-form pattern extend outward approximately along the rear of the main body 2 from the central region of the main body, with a mutual phase difference or symmetrically about the axis of rotation. The discharge electrodes 8 rotate together with the main body 2, and the discharge current to the front of the spray head is made uniform and increased, thereby enhancing painting efficiency, in comparison with a conductive metal body.
