An arrangement of supporting bars has a socket (100') and a supporting bar (200) that can be plugged into or withdrawn from the socket (100') in no time. The socket may be set on the front or rear side of a display wall or may be set into a wall. The socket may also be set on or in a shelving element. The support bar (200) has a plug-in plate (210) to which is joined a pipe piece (220). By inclining the plug-in plate (210), one can insert it into the windowlike plug-in opening (112') of the housing (110') and by moving it slightly one can block it behind stopping edges. The pipe piece (220) may be used for hanging goods or for holding a goods display unit. A goods display unit may also rest on the pipe pieces (220) of several adjacent supporting bars (200) or may interconnect several pipe pieces (220) by means of cross bars. Sockets (100') are systematically distributed for that purpose.
