The seat belt winder comprises flexible tensioning bands (21) which are fixed on one side to a housing (24) and on the other side to a drive roller (22). The direction of curvature of the tensioning bands in the band running space (23) is the same as on the drive roller.The two part chambers (23',23") connected to the pressure chamber (17) are decoupled by a sealing wall (29) which has sealing lips (29') in engagement with the wound-up tensioning bands. The pressure in the chamber (23") presses the sealing lip tightly against the outer surface of the tensioning band.
