PURPOSE: To obtain a lubricant for warm of hot forging capable of manifesting excellent performance in lubricity and mold releasing ability, excellent in cooling ability and capable of prolonging life of tools and molds by blending any one salt selected from trimellitic acid salts, adipic acid salts or phthalic acid salts. CONSTITUTION: This lubricant for warm or hot forging comprises (A) an alkali or an alkali earth metal salt of trimellitic acid, (B) at least one or more salts selected from alkali or alkali earth metal salts of adipic acid or phthalic acid, (C) an alkali or an alkali earth metal salt of an olefin-maleic anhydride copolymer and (D) water and preferably (E) an alkanol amine salt of boric acid or boric anhydride. The content ratio of the ingredients A to B is preferably (1/99-95/5). The contents of the ingredient A and the polycarboxylic acid ingredient B are preferably both 0.1-40 pts.wt., the ingredient C 1-35 pts.wt. and the ingredient E 0.01-25 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the lubricant. |
