PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in the storage stability of a background part and an image part by adding a specific salicylic acid derivative or a metal salt thereof as an electron acceptive compd. and adding one kind of a specific substance as a sensitizer. CONSTITUTION: A salicylic acid derivative represented by formula (wherein X1 and X2 are a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group or a halogen atom and R is an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group) or a metal salt thereof is added as an electron acceptive compd. allowing a dye precursor to form a color in an amt. of 50-300% by wt. of the dye precursor. As a sensitizer, one kind of a compd. is selected from 1,4-dibenzyloxybenzene, methyl p-benzoyloxybenzoate and 4,4'- diallyloxydiphenylsulfone to be added in an amt. of 50-300% by wt. of the dye precursor. By this constitution, a thermal recording material excellent in thermal response, the storage stability of a background part and an image part and the heat resistance of the background part can be obtained. |
