PURPOSE: To reversibly control the internal pressure in a combustion chamber and stably combust gas generation agent of high pressure dependency. CONSTITUTION: A gas generator 31 for an air bag is provided with a combustion chamber 40 which generates gas by combusting the gas generation agent 7 contained in the chamber and increases the pressure of the gas generated, a gas hole 33, which is provided in the wall of the combustion chamber 40 to discharge the gas and pressure control means 35 and 37 for controlling the internal pressure in the combustion chamber 40, which is installed in the gas hole 33. The pressure control means 35 and 37 increase the opening area of their ports with an increase in internal pressure and decrease the area of their ports with a decrease in the internal pressure. |
