PURPOSE: To automatically inspect printed matter same in printing specifications but different in printing pattern by measuring the shape of a common pattern by an optical means to judge whether printing quality is good from the change of the shape of the common pattern. CONSTITUTION: Printed matter 1 has patterns 2 printed thereon by multiple paging and ditch parts 3 are present between the patterns 2. The paging of the patterns 2 of the printed matter 1 is 28 paging of 4×7 and there are patterns 21 , 22 , 23 , 25 , 26 , 27 positioned at paging 1-3 and paging 5-7. The common patterns 11, 12 for inspection printed on the ditch parts 3 of the printed matter 1 are printed simultaneously with the patterns 2 and, if printing specifications are same, the change generated in the printing quality of the patterns 2 is reflected as the shape change of the common patterns regardless of the kind of the patterns 2. Therefore, the shapes of the common patterns 11, 12 are measured by an optical means to detect the shape change of the common patterns accompanied by the advance of printing and it can be judged whether printing quality is good. |
