PURPOSE: To form an image excellent in various characteristics by applying ink droplets to an anodic oxidation film subjected to dehydration and activation treatment to form an image and dyeing the anodic oxidation film by the dye of the ink droplets before covering the surface of the anodic oxidation film with a protective layer. CONSTITUTION: Ink droplets of at least one color are applied to the anodic oxidation film formed on the surface of a panel or foil composed of aluminum or an alloy thereof from a recording head having a large number of ink emitting orifices to form an image on the anodic oxidation film. In this case, at first, the anodic oxidation film is subjected to dehydration and activation treatment. Next, ink droplets are flown corresponding to an image signal to be applied to the predetermined position of the anodic oxidation film to form an image. Continuously, the anodic oxidation film is dyed by the dye contained in ink droplets and the excessive components contained in the ink droplets are removed. Thereafter, the surface of the anodic oxidation film is covered with a protective layer. For example, the material 701 to be recorded placed on a stocker 711 is fed to a printing tray 715 by a feeder 712 and ink droplets are applied to the material 701 to be recorded from a recording head 710. |
