PURPOSE: To satisfy the specifications of a safety standard which are met when a conventional urethane foam is used and ensure light weight, easy recycling and the elimination of burrs by improving a material for the foam part of a head rest. CONSTITUTION: An insert comprising a reinforcing part and a support leg part 5 connected to the former is installed on a die mounting plate 14 in a detachable manner, and the reinforcing part of the insert 6 is clamped with a die so that the reinforcing part is located inside the cavities 13 of a first and a second molding dies 11, 12. In addition, the cavities are filled with thermoplastic resin beads which are previously caused to foam, and the charged beads are caused to foam thermally to fuse each other by introducing a thermal medium into the cavity from an air vent 16 opened on the surface of a molding die 10. After that, the molding die is cooled by releasing a coolant, then a beads foam 2 with the insert is taken out and thus a head rest consisting of the beads foam covered by a skin material is manufactured. |
