PURPOSE: To certainly solidify and seal various harmful metals in waste by mixing a water solube substance capable of becoming the gelling agent of water glass and solid at specific temp. or lower with waste and subsequently mixing a treatment agent based on a water glass aq. soln. with the resulting mixture to age the mixture. CONSTITUTION: At the time of the treatment of waste, especially, waste incineration fly ash containing a Ca compd. such as Ca hydroxide or Ca oxide, a gelling agent is mixed with the fly ash and, subsequently, a treatment agent containing a water glass aq. soln. as a main constitutional component is mixed and kneaded with the resulting mixture and the resulting kneaded mixture is aged to certainly seal harmful metals even at the time of landfilling treatment or ocean disposal treatment so as not to elute them. At this time, as the gelling agent, one solid at 50 deg.C or less and rapidly dissolved at the time of the contact with the water glass aq. soln. to accelerate gelling reaction is used and a substance containing a multivalent metal, pref., aluminum sulfate or a hydrate thereof or alum is used. |
