The shredding device has at least one protrusion formed on a support in the path of the shredded crop material. The protrusion has at least one blade. The blade extends radial to the direction of motion of the cut goods and radial to the axis of rotation of a cutting rotor.The support is formed into an enclosed guide for the shredded material. The blades on the protrusion are shredding blades. The cutting edge of the blades forms an acute angle with the path of th shredded material.
