A method and a device for removing oxygen from the headspace of a package. The device includes an aseptic compartment (4) for filling a package (1) with a product, a package sealing compartment (5) with two sealing members (13, 14), and a conveyor device (2) for conveying packages through the two compartments. The second compartment (5) comprises a stationary nitrogen injection nozzle (11) between the two sealing members (13, 14).
