The mechanism has two superposed upper (4) and lower (6) date rings whose surface is divided into a set of sectors. The upper ring has sixteen sectors, and the lower ring has seventeen sectors. A correction device alters an indication provided by the mechanism, position of a drive unit with respect to upper and lower toothings of the respective rings and position of a correction mechanism with respect to the toothings.
