Industrial glass melting furnace

The industrial furnace, especially for melting glass, has a burner lance assembly located asymmetrically across the width (B) of the burner head (2). The melting pan (1) is contained within furnace walls (3-5), with two burner heads (2) at the same wall (3) flanking a centre line (7) through the U-furnace, opening into the pan (1). A combustion air channel (9) opens into each burner head (2), and at least one burner lance (8) in the head (2) gives a fuel feed. The burner lance assembly is asymmetrical across the width (B) of the burner head (2). At least one lance (8) is displaced away from the centre line (7) in the symmetrical lance assembly. The lance (8) has a control to alter the outlet speed profile of the fuel, over the outlet cross section of the lance, using the multiple jet head.
