PURPOSE: To reduce noise and exhaust gas caused by an engine for power generation sufficiently at the time of vehicular low speed running and stop and prevent the rundown battery of by long time indling, in a hybrid electric automobile which can generate electricity and run providing the engine for power generation. CONSTITUTION: Hybrid electric automobile is provided with a battery 1, a generator 6 for changing the battery 1, an engine 7 for driving the generator 6, a motor 2 for running driven by the battery 1, a vehicular speed detection means 10 for detecting a vehicular speed and a control means 9 constituted for reducing the rotation speed of the engine 7 and also reducing the power generation rate of the generator 6 when it is detected that the vehicular speed detected by the vehicular speed detection means 10 is below a prescribed vehicular speed. |
